- Formed by: Expansion of the former Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA)
- Jurisdiction: Covers 7,300+ km², including Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, and Anakapalli districts in Andhra Pradesh, India
- Objective: To ensure planned, coordinated, and sustainable development of the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region

- Prepares and enforces master plans and zoning regulations.

- Developed NTR VMRDA Park and Kailasagiri Park

- Promotes affordable housing, with 10% land reserved for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS)
